A modern, ancient, new wave, old world wine of real class and style ..... A polished but characterful red. Flavours of charcoal, raisin, cedar and ironstone. Medium-weight but ripe and generous. Feels modern, balanced, soft on the tongue. ... It's an excellent north-east Victorian red blend. 93 points Winefront.com.au
Learn MoreMade by the unflappable Javier Murua. Almost entirely tempranillo but co-fermented with a smidge of grenache. Sees a small portion of old French and American oak. Elegant yet characterful and then punchy through the finish. Has structure. Has a big dry finish. Licorice and cherry and twiggy sinewy almost-bitter notes. Chicory too. A grunty wine. Will be a handy drinking option through the cooler months. Like it. 90 points Winefront
Learn MoreExceptional cabernet from the Great Southern. So deep and dark in the glass. The aroma is pure concentrated cabernet essence showing such power and finesse. The palate has excellent structure with grainy tannins and fine grained oak supporting the opulent rich cabernet. Will keep on improving. – 96 Points Ray Jordan. WA Wine Guide 2013
Learn MoreLike 2010 this wine reflects many characters from some of best vintages of the 90s. A very powerful palate, tight and racy. Wonderfully subtle fruit, well integrated with complex secondary characters, fine acidity and great length. This wine will develop into a real classic, quite in the style of traditional Burgundy. This wine will have great longevity - especially under screwcap closure.
Learn Moreberry jam and spice introduce a full-bodied wine and emphatic tannic structure. Wow. (Screw cap; 14.5 percent alcohol.) Ageing? Yes, from two to 20years. 93+ points Ralph Kyte Powell
Excellent fragrance, polish, guts and length. Ironstone, blood plums, smoky/musky oak. Thick chains of grunty tannin. Handsome wine. Flavour floods through the finish. Stories and ratings aside, this is my most preferred of the initial Eldorado Road offerings. 94 points Winefront.com.au
Deep straw colour, with a pale green hue. An intense combination of cashew, butter, honeycomb and stone fruit characters. Medium palate weight with a rich and creamy texture. Peach and nectarine fruit flavours are perfectly complimented by toasted nuts, honey and a persistent and flavoursome finish.
Learn More... This may well be about as good as Barossa GSM gets? ... Serious length. And for all those serious bits, still just so irresistibly yum. You’re having your cake and eating it here. 95 points Winefront.com.au
The architecture is stunning. Cranberry accented acidity and ripe, graphite/mineral tannin. It moves from entry to exit without any interruption and the extension is remarkable .... The Mataro’s Asian spice character lingers as an aftertaste. Terrific now and has the potential to be even more special in the years to come. 95+ Excellent – Exceptional Wine Will Eat Itself
