Rich and full bodied the Cutlass balances thick cuts of juicy dark plum with subtle slices of spice and toast along the length of the blade to a fine grained finish of elegance and great persistence.
Full red-purple; a medium- to full-bodied wine with an extravagant display of flavours and an expressive bouquet; plum, spice, black cherry and quality oak all populate the palate, the finish long and assured. 93 points James Halliday
Have to say, from what I've tasted, 2012 is certainly a vintage where you can start to believe the hype. Spice, nuts, flowers, blood plum, a little chocolate and liquorice - sweetly fruited, yet it pulls savoury and firm. And boy oh boy, as the hungry cartoon dog says, is this a delicious wine. Pleasantly gritty tannin, gentle slipperiness, balanced acidity and lip smacking pure fruit appeal and hazelnutty flavours bring it home. Let's rate it appropriately highly, I think. Gary Walsh, Winefront.com.au Rated : 95 Points
Learn MoreGenerous mouth filling sweet blackberry, raspberry and plums cover the palate with lashings of sweet spice. Firm but fine tannins and dark chocolaty nuances continue throughout the lengthy palate with youthful finish.
Learn MoreBlood plum, spice, a bit of leather, bitter chocolate and an almost musky perfume. Medium bodied with fresh juicy acidity and fine tannin providing shape and control, yet has a supple feel, then pulls firm on the finish. Hazelnuts, blood and earth in the flavour mix. Even flow and charm. Really good to drink. The blend as it should be. On the cusp of 94 points. Winefront.com.au
Learn MoreRipe plums, dark berries, redcurrant and dark cherry, juicy vibrant and alive. The fragrant spicy character of this Shiraz has married well with subtle oak, building an array of toasted spices. Silky and seductive palate, this is seamless Shiraz, elegantly weighted and full of supple juicy dark berry flavour. It's a wine to have on the table with food, beautifully balanced, the super fine tannins driving long through its savoury spicy finish.
Learn MoreBright red berry fruits on the nose with lots of spice and pepper and a hint of oak. Young and vibrant, it's bigger and more savoury than the nose suggests, with black fruits, liquorice, mint, meat, pepper, spice and a touch of oak. It needs some time to soften but has lovely black and red berry fruits, savoury and spicy
Learn More“ Bright crimson-purple; oh my, what a beautiful wine from this wondrous vintage; a selection from 19 vineyard sites, open-fermented, basket-pressed and matured in quality American oak, 25% new; its juicy flavours caress the mouth, the oak balance spot on, and not imparting overt vanilla, the tannins equally good.” – 96 Points James Halliday
Learn MoreDark fruit bursts onto the palate. The vibrant acid carries the juicy plummy fruit and bitter chocolate seamlessly through the palate and continues to roll on and on balanced by firm, but fine tannins. This wine is from probably our best vintage to date and will need a few months to settle down, but will age over the medium to long term and will drink well for at least the next decade.
