  1. De Bortoli Noble One 2007 (375 mL)

De Bortoli Noble One 2007 (375 mL)
    $33.99
Bright yellow-gold; the vast experience of De Bortoli with this style results in a wine with the rich, opulent and sweet fruit balanced by the acidity missing from lesser wines; cumquat, mandarin, honey and vanilla are all part of the package. 375 ml. Screwcap. Rating 95 James Halliday Learn More

  2. Eldorado Road Wines Onyx Durif 2010

Eldorado Road Wines Onyx Durif 2010

berry jam and spice introduce a full-bodied wine and emphatic tannic structure. Wow. (Screw cap; 14.5 percent alcohol.) Ageing? Yes, from two to 20years. 93+ points Ralph Kyte Powell
Excellent fragrance, polish, guts and length. Ironstone, blood plums, smoky/musky oak. Thick chains of grunty tannin. Handsome wine. Flavour floods through the finish. Stories and ratings aside, this is my most preferred of the initial Eldorado Road offerings. 94 points Winefront.com.au

  3. Dog Point Chardonnay 2010

    Dog Point Chardonnay 2010

“One of Marlborough’s most refined estates just got finer. Magic happened when the idyllic 2010 season met these mature, low-cropped estate vineyards. A winemaking philosophy that prizes texture above flavour, and a lower proportion of new oak than ever, have produced one of the region’s finest chardonnays. It’s lively, honed and poised, with a lemon blossom lift and a fine, taut, textural, mineral-infused palate that lingers long. Drink 2015-2022.” 95 points Tyson Stelzer, Wine Taste, Edition 55

THE WINE FRONT - Campbell Mattinson, - This mourvedre from Turkey Flat spent 20 months in French oak puncheons. We have another winning mourvedre here. It's dark berried and earthen, leathery and polished. Spicy, cedary oak makes a delicious contribution and its grainy, assertive, rusty tannin is a highlight. Lovely length. Medium-bodied but almost porty in its ripeness. Beautiful wine to drink even now though it can be cellared with confidence too. Rating: 94 Points

  3. Marius Simpatico Shiraz 2010

    Marius Simpatico Shiraz 2010

Tannin of muscular density and grip - authoritative but not over-bearing. They'll stand this beautifully blue and black fruited wine in good stead for many a year. There's soft and subtle vanilla oak, a little spice, and some of that regional and/or vineyard derived ironstone character that I find so appealing. Chocolate and licorice with air, though it's the depth of fruit married to impressive structure that's the thing here. A mighty wine. Needs some time yet, but what a future. Rated : 94+ Points. Another great example of the quality of this vintage in Coonawarra. Silky smooth seamless structure with those tannins and oak cut precisely into the elegant fruit. 97 Points; Ray Jordan's Top 100 Australian Reds, The West Australian July 2012

..... opens up with power and precision in an almost pinot-like sensuality; long precise and destined to go the distance.” – 96 Points Ben Edwards for James Halliday's Wine Companion.

“it’s fresh, boysenberried, cherry-plummed and beautifully well ripened, with a refreshing feel from go to whoa. Some chicory, rubber and cedar-spicy-smoky oak too. And good reach through the finish to boot. In fact it’s polished and well-balanced all round.” – 93 Points Campbell Mattinson

Boy, these guys are starting to make this variety hum after beginning to refocus on it a few years ago. No question this is the best yet. Savoury and delightfully spicy with a sumptuous soft and supple palate that provides layers of complex flavours. Has the best mouth feel of any Leeuwin shiraz released to date. Score 95/100.
