Decent, quaffable pinot noir for under $20? It's almost impossible to find but this terrific value import from the south of France manages it ... “the best French Pinot Noir outside of Burgundy” .... It's on the riper side of the pinot spectrum, certainly no shrinking violet, but no brash bogan either. The (French) girl next door with smoothness, dark cherry fruit flavours, hints of earthiness and plenty of length. It can be found on special for as low as $15 but the RRP is $19. Windsor Dobbin
Learn MoreHere’s proof that Barossa red wine specialist Kym Teusner, well, isn’t! He took me by surprise in the elegant restraint he’s captured here; a skilfully crafted wine of delicate and refreshing poise. Apple, pear, white nectarine and grapefruit flavours finish crisp and dry. 92 points Tyson Tselzer
Learn MoreDelightful drinking. Finishes dry and chalky but the fruit is so generous and up-front that it almost seems sweet. Apples and Turkish delight, dry spice and melon. Lipsmacking. Exuberant and perfumed. Quality wine and a crowd pleaser too. Rated : 91 Points Winefront.com.au
Learn MoreComplex aromas, perfumed almost, inviting, beguiling, sweet but in a savory way, never tripping the fine line of stunning fullness and over extraction. Licorice, dark berries, herbs ... A wonderful, must have wine from a fantastic vineyard and talented wine maker. Gavin Trott
Learn MoreThis is a ripe and immediate vintage for Mike Press pinot, making it spot on for drinking right away. It’s a fruity style of wild strawberries, ripe raspberries, a hint of brambles and finely textured tannins. 14.8 on the alcohol scale is a big number for this timid grape, but the high altitude acidity of this vineyard keeps it bright and fresh, toning its warm finish. Enticingly underpriced Tyson Tselzer
Learn MoreSheer Burgundy in colour. Sweet musky florals of raspberry, white pepper spice and anise. The palate is plump, textured, medium bodied and carries sweet, red fruits, liquorice, and pepper through a finale of Grenache's warmth, finesse and silky tannins. Try this versatile wine on its own, 1 bottle at a time or with Pizza/Pasta. Drink now or up to 5 years. 14.5% Alcohol.
