Dark red to black colour. The nose shows raspberry, aniseed, tar, cola, vanilla cream, rosemary, sage and menthol. The palate has layers of liquered red fruits and complex, supple tannins. The sweeter fruits and glycerols seem to completely coat the tannins underneath. drink now or up to 10 years. 13.7% Alcohol

The Jack's Shiraz was predominantly sourced from the Kalleske's Home block with small parcels included from the Hill and Moppa blocks. Black core with crimson rim. Vibrant plum, cherry and blueberry pie dominate the nose with hints of raspebrry, eucalyptus, pepper, spice and cedar notes. Concentrated black and red fruits entwined with dark chocolate, liquorice and supported by soft supple tannins.

The result is a brooding, complex wine dripping in dark, aromatic, spicy fruit that sings of the earth from where it came, as well as the toil of those who tended the vines. The 2011 Indy over delivers on every front!!!!!

Excellent vitality and drinkability. Blackberries, cranberries, sap and smoke. Has that ashen, meaty note so characteristic of cool vintages like 2002 and 2011. Has enough sweetness though to keep Barossa shiraz drinkers happy. Enough slurpy, smooth texture. Clovey, peppery, licoricey finish. Compact and complex. Great wine to hook into. Blood plum, spice, a bit of leather, bitter chocolate and an almost musky perfume. Medium bodied with fresh juicy acidity and fine tannin providing shape and control, yet has a supple feel, then pulls firm on the finish. Hazelnuts, blood and earth in the flavour mix. Plenty of lavender, dried rosemary, hung game-meats, musk and white pepper. The palate is well weighted with plenty of texture and fruit flavour’s of ripe, plum, blackfruit’s, mulberry and cherry. As to be expected there are the rich savoury and spicy aspects that we love from this variety in abundance. Nutmeg, Dutch licorice and a great earthy weight. Ripe, chalky tannins wrap in to a long persistent finish.
