This is a ripe and immediate vintage for Mike Press pinot, making it spot on for drinking right away. It’s a fruity style of wild strawberries, ripe raspberries, a hint of brambles and finely textured tannins. 14.8 on the alcohol scale is a big number for this timid grape, but the high altitude acidity of this vineyard keeps it bright and fresh, toning its warm finish. Enticingly underpriced Tyson Tselzer

"First made in 1975 in honour of the house's most famous customer, Pol's prestige cuvee rarely fails to impress. Made from pinot noir and chardonnay, this rich yet stylish wine needs at least another five years before it hits its straps."

Sheer Burgundy in colour. Sweet musky florals of raspberry, white pepper spice and anise. The palate is plump, textured, medium bodied and carries sweet, red fruits, liquorice, and pepper through a finale of Grenache's warmth, finesse and silky tannins. Well, if a rosé is made by such Burgundy royalty as DRC’s Aubert de Villaine and Dujac’s Jacques Seysses; a bloke sort of has to try it, hey? this is based on old vines Cinsault, a variety not known for its power and complexities, to add fragrance and zip to their reds. In this, the variety’s characteristic rosés, seem to appear not only in the aromatics, but also in a radiant rose pink colour. This is so textured, long and fresh and it plays out with a tingling backbone and a nice drying, savoury note at the end. This is worth finding. Don’t know if I’ve seen a better rosé... 2. Taltarni Brut Tache

    Taltarni Brut Tache
    $21.99
Ultra-refined and utterly restrained, this is an incredible Taché with a gorgeous pale salmon hue and just the faintest wisps of strawberry hull and rose petal flavour. It gains its class more by what it is not than what it is, making it the benchmark sub-$25 sparkling rosé of the year. 93 points Wine 100 Learn More

Clear red colour, and one sniff tells you what the wine is, Pinot, it just smells of, well Pinot! ... its a wonderfully pure Pinot nose. The palate is medium bodied, but with cherries, berries, spices, a touch of spicy toasty oak. It has decent length, on the delicious finish. terrific wine and about the best value Pinot around. Jansz Tasmania Vintage Cuvee 2006
The palate is balanced. It flaunts powerful yet elegant fruit flavours, showing honeysuckle, rose petals and strawberry juxtaposed with complex notes of oyster shell and truffle. The result is a layered and textural wine that can only be achieved through extended aging on yeast. The natural acidity typical of this vineyard provides elegance and longevity to this wine. ..Intriguing. Blood and blood plum, rose oil, hazelnut, bitter herb and chocolate. It’s dry and chewy with a fair whack of chalky tannin but has the fruit and density to pull it off with style. Good to drink, interesting to taste…and ripping value to boot. Love it. Drink : 2010 - 2014 90 points Learn More
