... a master stroke. Rather than adding floral notes, the Roussanne adds weight and complexity. This wine is very elegant, as the plum and red berry flavours roll down the palate. The wine has a dry finish and considerable length - very appealing (95 points). Alontin Australian Wine
... imagination-stretching complexity and an unwavering sense of poise, energy and internal harmony. Vineyard sources in high country Eden and the Barossa hills maintain a lively acid profile, supporting impeccably textured, gravelly, fine-grained tannins that draw every nuance of detail long into a tightly focused finish. Definitive new age Barossa. 96 points Tyson Tselzer
Excellent vitality and drinkability. Blackberries, cranberries, sap and smoke. Has that ashen, meaty note so characteristic of cool vintages like 2002 and 2011. Has enough sweetness though to keep Barossa shiraz drinkers happy. Enough slurpy, smooth texture. Clovey, peppery, licoricey finish. Compact and complex. Great wine to hook into. The wine has lifted red berry aromas and flavours, complexed by grenache spiciness and given extra back palate astringency by the blending of other more tannic red varieties. It is a mouth-filling wine that may be kept for up to 10 years, but will go nicely with duck, turkey, lamb and gamey meats any time soon.

The Majella Shiraz first appeared in 1991 and has since acquired a reputation as one of Coonawarra's finest Shiraz's.
Dark red in colour with purple hues, the wine is redolent of cinnamon spice with overlays of cedary mocha oak. The palate shows great length, full of plums, cherries, blackberries and vanilla – creamy and sweet! The tannins are quite soft and complement the long, lingering finish. We present it as a great example of Coonawarra Shiraz at its very best.
“-to your average red drinker this is manna from heaven. -it’s right in the Majella groove.” Campbell Mattinson
Learn More classic Barossa and superimposes it onto a resolutely medium-bodied palate of finely textured, honed tannins and tangy acidity. Black plums, black cherries and violets carry seamlessly through a lively and crunchy palate, accented with fruit mince spice, dark chocolate and black pepper."
