The wine displays fresh green tinges on a pale straw colour. The nose exhibits aromas of fresh cut pear and honey dew melon with some zesty citric notes. There are no overt woody or buttery aromas with the primary fruit characters expressed with clarity and definition. The palate is fresh and lively with clean crisp acidity complementing the vibrant fruity flavours. The palate has very good extension and ends clean and bright. This is a restrained style of Australian Chardonnay and highlights how far we have come with this style of wine over the last decade.

Typical cool-climate Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon aromas of lively tropical fruits and fresh herbaceous grassy characters make up an intense bouquet. The palate is fresh and lively with classic Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon characters and a fine structure that are an indication both of quality of the vintage and of the use of only free-run juice.

One of the Barossa's greatest gifts is its unique collection of fortified port and sherry style wines. This 30 year old (average age) pedro ximinez is sensational, essentially an amontillado sherry with emerging nutty, caramel, apricot and raisin characters, bergamot and racy acidity remaining. Even served with a decent chill it’s still revving to get its charms across – within a strict, structured framework. Roses, strawberries, tobacco, licorice. Touch of alcohol warmth. Opens up nicely as it rests in the glass. Excellent buying option. Rated : 91 Points Winefront.com.au
