Cult Shiraz thinks itself a bit of a rock star... ...but is fortunately sexy enough to pull it off. Audacious and loud-mouthed, Cult belies its cool-climate origins with sweet, dark fruit and ripples of chocolate at its core. There is a persuasiveness and warmth to this wine that feels passionate, intense and instantly even perilously appealing. Consider yourself warned.
The Cult is a nod to Crozes-Hermitage and Southern Rhone styles. It is slightly riper with primary fruit and savoury bacon fat characters rounding it out..... This wine needs time. The fruit is tucked away but watch it evolve over time and as the fruit comes into focus, the acid and spice is going to all fall into place. That is something to look forward to. 94 Points -Winefront.com.au
A small Lobethal vineyard supplies the fruit for this fantastic shiraz that makes the syrah point on the label to highlight its style difference to big, warm, ripe versions.
Distinctive mint and spice open its account, and its superbly rounded and juicy in the mouth with texture and minerality carrying the wine on and on. Excellent Top 100 Wines
Strong colour; I suppose the retro label suits the cult imagery, but the quality of the wine could be lost in the story It has a wonderful bouquet of black cherry fruit and quality oak, and the palate builds on the promise of the bouquet in an effortless display of cool climate shiraz at its best.
