Quick Overview

Massimo's Langhe Nebbiolo offers a fragrant and perfumed expression of Nebbiolo from Monforte. For Langhe Nebbiolo this is seriously structured with complexity that is not normally seen at this price point. Campbell Mattinson commented on the 2016 vintage in this wine by saying 'Nebbiolo producers all over the world would probably prefer that you didn’t see this wine. If you’re of a Nebbiolo kind of mind, this is about as exquisite as value gets. Given that it retails for $30 this is almost ridiculously good. Every itch is scratched, every promise fulfilled. ' Whilst the 2017 is a different wine (a touch more brooding but also expressive) the generalisation about what Massimo and value rings true. This is a fantastic wine and has the added benefit of being sealed under screwcap.

Product Description

Should be in everyone's cellar.

Benevelli Piero is situated in Monteforte dêAlba in the heart of Barolo Langa. The estate is a committed to preserve the traditions and not abandon the teachings of those who came before them, at the same time supplement this knowledge with the use of modern technologies.

Ruby red with violet hues. Aromas of intense, full hints of violet, raspberry and roses. Harmonic and dry with a pleasant fruity soft finish.

The eagerly awaited sequel to the lovely 2016 Learning about Barolo, the PERFECT place to start! Let me know if you'd like some, but be quick. Won't Last!

NB Review below is for the 2016 vintage

"Nebbiolo producers all over the world would probably prefer that you didn’t see this wine. If you’re of a Nebbiolo kind of mind, this is about as exquisite as value gets. Given that it retails for $30 this is almost ridiculously good. Every itch is scratched, every promise fulfilled. It’s tense, perfumed, earthen, licorice-like, scribbled with fine-point tannin and persistent enough to made each swig feel like a journey.
It’s a wine of finer details, no broad strokes allowed, no generalisations. It’s devilishly good.
