Quick Overview

Intense , highly lifted aromas of grapefruit and white flowers combine with white stone fruit and gun smoke. The palate has a creamy flow supported by a saline, chalky texture encapsulated by long mouth-watering acidity.

Here the intensity of the wine on the palate is expressed through the mouthwatering grapefruit flavours. This, Smiths Vineyard and Baxendale Vineyard all have unmistakable signatures - chardonnay isn't being used to do tricks, this is terroir (in the full sense of that term) speaking loud and clear.
96 points James Halliday

Product Description

Highly lifted aromas of citrus and white flower are nuanced with secondary characters of wax and flint. The mouthfeel is highly restrained with intense minerality and refreshing acidity gives the wine extreme focus and length.

The first impression is the great length of the wine, its extreme focus next. There is a palpable restraint that makes it easy to understand why Whitlands grapes have been chiefly used for sparkling wine, arguably the most reflective of its place. The A. Rodda Chardonnays make a great trio - few comparisons of this nature succeed so well. 95 points James Halliday
