    Special Price: $24.50

This nero d’avola is another. It’s sweetly fruited, leathery but bright, and is awash with integrated, refreshing acidity. A ‘one glass isn’t enough’ kind of wine. It tastes of jubey boysenberry shot through with spice, dust and aniseed, and has plenty of grippy dryness through the finish. Not a big wine, but it makes more of an impact than its size would suggest.  " 92 points Winefront.com.au

Contemplative wine this one, and much like grand Pinot Noir, of which it shares a certain weight and perfume, it really evolves and shifts around with time in glass. Turkish delight perfume dusted with pepper and dusty exotic spices, raspberry and ripe strawberry, raw almonds, pears poached in red wine studded with clove and cinnamon, and a host of other things, real or imagined.

Light to medium bodied, rippling with tone and muscle, funk and spice, slaty tannin and dryness, then that kiss of red fruits and perfume. It's pretty, and tough at the same time. Takes some time and effort to get to know, though certainly it's worth the effort. Quite outside the mainstream of Australian wine too, which is no bad thing. Real vinosity and verve. Think the score is more or less right. 96 points Gary Walsh Winefront.com.au"

Dark purple red, the dark fruit nose is very concentrated and closed but super stylish. Brooding and REAL. There is black jelly beans, purple jelly beans, and blueberries over a savoury, raw, and youthful palate that is all coiled power. ...... My score is a bit conservative as its still youthful. But add on more with time.
Yes. Score: 18.5/20, 94/100  Andrew Graham Australian Wine Review
... that exotic Chinese five spice thing going on, pastis and some dark chocolate.
Medium bodied, fluid and smooth, with a crunch to the acidity and a gentle graininess to the firm tannin. Has some salt beef flavours in there that you see in a lot of modern Barossa Shiraz, though they don’t bother me so much in this wine. Needs a year or two to soften, like a good pair of jeans. Just over the line for a 94 point finish.

Bright plum red; the nose has a soft red fruit fragrance - there's a reference on the back label to 'pink marshmallow' which I think is great. Sappy, dry palate is framed with tannins - bitter, mouth-cleansing, proper tannins. Complement that with some cherry red fruit late juiciness and you've got frankly one utterly delicious, dry and savoury red. Those tannins are perhaps just a little too bitter, but gee it makes for a refreshing and vital one.
    Massive yes. Drink 2015-2025+. 18/20, 93/100

"94+ Points. I reckon I’ve tasted every vintage of Leeuwin Art Series Chardonnay on release since 1992, so this brings me up to 21 vintages. I’m an adult now. I like this a little more than the 2011.
Hazelnut, pear, melon, toast and clove spiced wood. Full bodied, toasty savoury wood plays a leading role in the flavour profile, though of course there’s the typical Leeuwin fruit power to go with it. Pear and lime in the mix, silky honeyed texture, then a little crunch of tannin on the finish. Great length. Has complexity already as a young wine, but really needs a few years to settle down and mesh, at which point it will almost certainly rate a little higher. The lifted wine offers briary fruit dominated by fresh cherries, blueberries and complexing nutmeg spice. The palate is full, flavorsome and long with evident fine tannins.

"93 Points. From Paringa's three leased vineyards, hand-picked on 11 days between 6 and 20 Mar. A wine of remarkable length, behaving as much like chardonnay as pinot in its structure; the flavours of damson plum and red cherry are pure pinot, the mouthfeel fresh and balanced.

In the vernacular of cricket commentators, ‘whaddarippa!’. Does everything you want of a lightish to mediumish bodied red. Bright, friendly, fruity, spicy perfume. Juiciness to texture, some savouriness of earth and stones in the mix of dark, gently sweet fruit with a whip crack of acidity to freshen the palate. It’s like every wine you’ve drunk too much of because you’re onto a good thing. Slurp away, satisfied, touch of complexity, feels good in the mouth,

.....It tastes like the future of Barossa Mataro. Just 1290 bottles produced.
Dark maroon-purple, it's genuinely fragrant - which is revelatory for dour old Barossa Mataro - with the spicy whole bunch fruit giving a whole new sexy edge. There's a lightness and freshness of black fruit, tilled earth and fine tannins, if not quite the depth and length of a superstar. Gee this is much more approachable and lively than nearly any other Barossan Mataro though! Love the licoricey fruit and refreshing style.
    Yes. Yes yes yes.

“........Raspberry, nuts, spice and a very fetching perfume here, then a medium bodied palate with juicy red fruit and plums, a little sprinkle of the magic Barossa coal dust, spice and a clip of aromatic dried herb. Acidity is well settled and balanced, tannin offers pleasant grip and shape, and the finish falls to savoury and spicy, rather than simply fruit sweet.
Drinks a charm. Pretty much bang on.” – 93 Points Gary Walsh

Rip of grainy tannin here gives the tide of leathery, plummy flavour a sense of sure footing. Brighter notes of raspberry and fennel add life and lift. You'd have to be pretty hard to please not to thoroughly enjoy this wine.” – 94 Points James Halliday
