The 2011 The Empress Riesling shows great fruit purity on the palate with fresh, expressive “Bickfords” lime cordial characters along with grapefruit and lemon sorbet zing. After the initial pure citrus flavours the wine glides across the mid-palate with an energetic gait showing hints of crushed quartz, orange blossom, white flowers and talc with lighter nuances of lemon curd and clotted cream. The wine finishes with a well-defined, minerally line of acidity that shows great energy and spark as it guides the pure citrus and floral elements through to a persistent and dangerously moreish finish.

Here’s proof that Barossa red wine specialist Kym Teusner, well, isn’t! He took me by surprise in the elegant restraint he’s captured here; a skilfully crafted wine of delicate and refreshing poise. Apple, pear, white nectarine and grapefruit flavours finish crisp and dry. 92 points Tyson Tselzer

The nose is expressive and inviting with aromas of strawberries and cream, raspberry and redcurrant fruits with hints of white pepper, spice, thyme, licorice and creamy lees characters. ...again with an attractive white pepper lift poking through the vibrant fruit.. Medium to deep crimson in colour with purple hue. Ripe Satsuma plums and mulberry fruits fill the nostrils with lovely creamy vanilla, chocolate and hints of smoke, violets and citrus. Bright, juicy, plum and mulberry fruits flow onto the palate which is medium bodied. The sweet fruit is well balanced with silky tannins, good acidity, briary and sweet spice. A nice long finish tapers from sweet fruit through spice and citrus to end with a little dark chocolate.

Light red with pink and purple hues. Fresh strawberries and rose blossom mingle deliciously on the nose with hints of toffee apple. Juicy summer berries tantalise the taste buds with the raspberry lolly sweetness balanced nicely with zingy and zesty acidity which transforms into a crisp Granny Smith apple finish.

If I were in the market for a tasty weekday wine, I'd be all over  this like a fat kid on a Panettone.

Blood plum, sweet herb and aniseed  perfume, pepper and new leather. It’s medium bodied, fresh and  vivacious, with sweet red fruit and plum but enough Italianate savouries  to pull it back into line. Appropriate level of tannin, a cola nut and  subtle Chinotto-like bitterness and whole lot of drinking charm complete  the package Score is thereabouts correct, though not particularly  important.Rated : 90 Points Winefront.com.au

A 70/30% blend, 29% was barrel-fermented and spent two months in new French oak. The bouquet is fragrant and flowery, with passionfruit and citrus, the palate with great purity, line and length, grapefruit, oak and perfectly balanced acidity in a continuous stream of flavour carrying through to the aftertaste.
